How to review these goggles?I bought these for my 5watt 450nm (blue) laser pointer. This laser is crazy powerful and will cause instant damage to your eyes from reflections significantly faster than you can blink. Laser goggles are are an absolute must when dealing with these kinds of power. According to the standard that regulates laser eye protection these goggles have a rateing of OD5 meaning that 5watts of light is reduced to 0.05mW according to Styropro on Youtube.As you can see from the pictures the laser creates a brilliant blue light, but with the goggles on it reduces it to a bright yellow dot. its not nearly as satisfying to look at with the goggles, but much safer.These things are made in China, the goggles themselves are cheap and light even makes its way through the air vents, so be aware. I have faith these will protect me so long as i avoid a direct beam to the eye and only expose myself to scatterd reflections.Another note about these goggles is they protect 190-540nm AND 800-1700nm which is great because they block my 450nm laser AND and infared light, because some lasers will not have an infared filter and since you cant see infared you wont even know your being exposed to it.
